He is an Egyptian musician, born in Cairo in 1926. He obtained a diploma in music in 1946 and a BA from the Higher Institute of Arab Dramatic Music in 1949. He composed more than 100 musical pieces that are played locally and internationally. He received a Medal of Science and Arts in 1967 and a certificate of appreciation from the Academy of Arts in 1987. He also received many honors from Arab and international countries.
