Faten Anwar was born in Cairo in 1941. She graduated from the English Department of the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University in 1962. She began her career by joining theatrical television groups at the end of 1962. Her first professional role was in Then the Sun Rises in 1962. She joined the National Theater Troupe in 1967.
