He is an Egyptian director and screenwriter, who was born on April 2, 1950. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema, Directing Department, in 1976. He began his career by writing, directing, and producing the documentary film, Here Is Cairo, while he was still a student. After that, he directed several short feature films, documentaries and television dramas. He was an assistant director for films such as The Lucky (1984), and The Advocate (1983).
