A Syrian director who was born in 1949. He is considered one of the pioneers of cinematic art in Idlib. He studied film directing at the French Film Institute in Paris and graduated in 1974. He worked as an assistant director on French television with major French directors...Read more until 1975. He directed feature films for Iraqi cinema, including the movie Abdullah the Lover (1979), which won the Soviet Critics' Prize in Moscow, the movie The Speckled (1980), and finally the movie The Cart and the Horse (1989). He directed the documentary film New Fascism (1984), and won the Golden Prize at the International Palestinian Film Festival.
