A Syrian writer, born in the city of Jayrud, near Damascus. He graduated from Damascus University. He worked as a teacher in secondary schools in Syria and Algeria, after which he devoted himself to working in the Manuscripts and Publishing Department at the Arab Writers Union, after which he worked as Director of Public Relations at Al-Baʽath newspaper and supervisor of the culture and investigations divisions until he became General Director of Radio and Television. In addition to this, he wrote some drama series, most notably House of Glory (2003). He died in 2013 at the age of 75.
