Julie Powell is an American author who was born on the 20th of April, 1973 in Austin, Texas. Powell studied at Amherst College in Massachusetts and earned a degree in theater and creative writing. Beginning in August 2002 Julie Powell launched a blog titled the “Julie/Julia...Read more Project”. The blog recorded Julia’s attempt to prepare all of the recipes contained in “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” – a cook book authored by American chef, author and TV persona Julia Child. The blog quickly gained popularity and Julia subsequently authored a book about the endeavor titled: “Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen”. Julie’s novel was recently adapted into a film titled “Julie & Julia”. The production starred Amy Adams and Meryl Streep in the leading roles. Worthy of note is that the film adaptation also incorporates sections from Julia Child’s autobiography.
