American singer and actress born on March 7, 1959 in Queens, New York. She studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Murphy has twice won the Tony for Best Actress in a Musical for "Passion" (1994–95), and "The King and I" (1996–97). Her works include Tangled (2010), Center Stage (2000), Mercy Street (2016-2017), and The Nanny Diaries (2007).


Donna Murphy is an American actress who was born on the 7th of March, 1958 in Queens, New York. Murphy has reached out through various media and has performed stage, film and television roles. Murphy is also a musician. Murphy’s stage performances were particularly celebrated as she is a four time winner of the Tony Award, the highest honor for American theater. Amongst her most recent film roles is that of Mother Gothel in the 2010 Disney production “Tangled”. She is also well known for her role as Anji, Captain Jean-Luc Picard’s romantic interest in “Star Trek: Inserruction” among other roles.
