An Iraqi actor and director, born in Baghdad. He is the son of actor Khalil Shawqi, and the brother of actresses Mai Khalil and Ronak Shawqi. Among his notable works are The Guard (1967), The Eagle and the Eyes of the City (1983) and Stray Wishes (1989).
