An American actress, born in Louisiana. She won a movie lead and was nominated for an Academy Award when she was six years old at the time, becoming the second youngest actress to receive this nomination after Justin Henry. She made her cinematic debut when she was five years old through the movie, Beasts of the Southern Wild. Afterward, she signed up for several films, the first of which was the film Twelve Years a Slave with Brad Pitt.
