He is an Egyptian journalist and writer, born on January 10, 1946. He attended French schools until he completed his secondary studies in 1963. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Department of French Language, Cairo University in 1967. He worked on Middle East Radio and Cairo Radio and as a diplomatic editor for Al-Musawar magazine in Cairo. He held many positions throughout his career, including Director of the Al-Ahram office in Paris, and managed the Cairo International Film Festival from 2002 till 2005. He wrote several books and novels such as "Sheikh Abdullah", and "Jerusalem Will Not Fall". He also wrote the movie Aziz, A Hero from the South (2000).
