Danish actor born in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 16, 1919. In 1949, he received the Bodil Award for Best Actor for the film Kampen mod uretten. He got married to actress Lily Weiding (1954-1962), they had two children, and she remained with him until his death. His most important works, include: The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956), Israel (1949), and The Tales of Hoffmann (1951). He died in London, on September 10, 1962.
