Iran has nominated a picture that depicts the lives of American soldiers in Iraq for the award for best foreign film at the Oscars. The picture, titled “Wada’an Baghdad” (“Farewell Baghdad”), has a runtime of 100 minutes and is set in Baghdad. The title relates the lives of American and Iraqi soldiers and was directed by Mehdi Naderi.Naderi began his career in theater in 1988, since then he has directed several documentary and short films.
