The movie “Gedo Habeebi” or “My Loving Granddad” is out of the Eid competition.

New Century Productions decided to postpone its movie “Gedo Habeebi” from Eid Al Adha till the mid year holiday, although the movie is complete, and ready for release.The production company did not give reasons for postponing the movie, but it is most likely because of the killing competition the movie will witness if it is released during Eid. The competition will involve 3 of the major comedians in the last decade working in the Egyptian cinema, as well as one of the most controversial directors. The script for the movie is written by Zenab Aziz and directed by Ali Idrees, starring Mahmoud Yassin and Boshra. The movie is a social comedy portraying a young female living abroad who decided to come back to Egypt and live with her grandfather.2 weeks ago 8 movies were scheduled for release during Eid Al Adha now they are 4 only. The movies are: “X Large” for comedian Ahmed Helmy, “Cinema Ali Baba” for comedian Ahmed Mekki, “Omar and Salma” part 3 for Tamer Hosni and May Ezz El Din and finally, “Palm of the Moon” a drama for controversial director Khaled Youssef. There is still one movie “Dawlat Securities” for Hamada Helal, undecided whether it will make it through Eid or not. However, the movies:”Gedo Habeebi”, “One Whole One” and “Female Cousins” have officially decided to leave the competition.
