It was said that after "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" director Michael Bay and lead actor Shia LaBeouf announced that this will be the end of the sequel. They had no intentions for another part and they both were willing for other projects. However, after the record breaking gross revenue earned by the third part; Paramount Pictures CEO Adam Goodman announced to Hollywood Reporters that they are planning for other parts, and after many negotiations they managed to get Bay onboard but not LaBeouf. Its seems that LaBeouf had enough of the transformers after seeing the dark side of the moon, and Goodman clarified that the other parts will have different directions than the blockbuster trilogy and will require a whole new cast. Director Bay will start shooting the fourth part after finishing his new film "Pain and Gain".
