Wahran’s Film Festival: Best Actress for Sawsan Bader and Best Film for “Al Khorouj Ela Al Nahar”

The 6thedition of the Wahran Arabic Film Festival ended yesterday and awarded BestLong Feature Film “Golden Wahr” for the Egyptian film “Al Khorouj Ela Al Nahar-Going Out to Daylight” which is directed by Hala Lotfi.

The Jury’s Awards forLong Feature Films went to the Palestinian film “Lamma Shoftak – When I saw You”by Ann Mary Jasser and Best Director went to Algerian Gamila Sahrawy for her iflm“Yamma – Mom”.

Egyptian actress SawsanBader received Best Actress award for her role in “Al Shawk – Longing” and Bestactor award went to Tunisian actor Hesham Rosto for his role in the Moroccanfilm “Al Watar AL Khames – Fifth Chord” while Tunisian writer Mahmoud BinMahmoud walked away with Best Original Script award for “Al Ostaz – The Professor”.

As for Short Filmscompetition which had 14 films participating; Best Film went to the Algerianfilm “Al Jazeera – The Island” which is directed by rising director Sidy BouMadin and the Jury’s award went to the Moroccan film “Al Yad Al Yosra – Left Hand”by Fadel Shobaka. Three films received Special Mentioning and they are “AlNafetha – The Window” by Anis Jaad, “Bard Yanayer – January’s Winter” byRoumany Saad and “Al Layla Al Akheera – Final Night” by Mariam Touzaly.

The Audience’s Awardwhich was featured for the first time in this edition went to the documentary “TounisMa Qabl Al Tareekh – Tunisia, Before Time” by Hamdy Bin Ahmed.
