Actors Syndicate Delegation Meets Minister of Information to Discuss New Visions for Drama Production

Egyptian Minister of Information Dr. Doria Sharaf Eldeen met a delegation from the actors syndicate today,including syndicate president Ashraf Abdel Ghafour, Mohamed Abo Dawood, Sameh El Serity, and Khalil Morsy, members of the syndicateoffice.

Essam El Amir, president of the Radioand Television Union was also present, along with production sectorhead Adel Thabet, Saad Abbas president of Sound of Cairo Productions,Mohamed Abdalla, head of the economical sector, and producer Mohamed Fawzy representing the private sector. Discussions were about newvisions for television drama production and how the Egyptian smallscreen will be shaped in the upcoming phase.

The meeting also included discussionsabout the financial liquidity issues regarding covering up artistsand syndicate members' monetary rights due from production companies,finding quick resolutions for funding new productions, co-productionsbetween Egyptian television and the private sector, co-productionswith other Arab television unions like Kurdistan and Iraq, andfinally re-installing a dubbing system for Egyptian televisionproductions. The meeting concluded by setting a date for anothermeeting to continue discussions about aforementioned topics.
