Amr Waked and Ahmed Abdalla: "Khaled Youssef Doesn't Represent Filmmakers "

Throughhis twitter account, actor and producer Amr Waked stated thatdirector Khaled Youssef does not represent the rest of Egyptianfilmmakers in the 50-member committee responsible for writing thecountry's new constitution.

Waked, alongwith dozens of other filmmakers including Ahmed Abdallaexpressed theirtotal objection to Khaled Youssef's approval ofanarticle allowing military trials of civilians. BothWaked and Abdalla signed a statement entitled: “Filmmakers againstmilitary trials of civilians: Khaled Youssef doesn't represent us,”which contains signatures from filmmakers who refuse beingrepresented by Youssef in the 50-member committee and any politicalvenue.

Wakedtweeted in the same context: “Most of the people I met who defendthe neccesity of military trials to civilians are civiliansthemselves, and actually they haven't read any military law.”
