As Farid Abu Khalil is released from prison after many years because of his political activities, everyone rejoices at the news of his release.

Farid's family throws a huge party to celebrate his release from prison. Farid considers writing his memoirs, which frightens a number of powerful people.

Farid thinks of starting a business from which he can earn money after his release from prison. He also thinks of a way to divide his land.

As Farid starts working in his shop, he discovers that his son is about to be expelled from college due to repeated flunking.

The residents of the neighborhood incite violence against Farid after he quarrels with Abu Abdo, upon which he gets stabbed because of him.

Farid refuses to hold an opening party for his shop, which he re-opened, while his wife discovers romance novels with their daughter, Dala'.

Farid manages to attract customers to his shop after it reopens, which makes the owner of the shop next door jealous.

As Abu Abdo decides to deceive Farid in order to spoil his business, he enters into a deal with him that aims to achieve that. Dala's boyfriend tries to patch things up with her.

As Farid discovers how his wife was making money to provide for her children while he was in prison, he feels sad that she didn't tell him.

Mounir comes to Farid's house after he got drunk, whereupon the man causes disturbance to all the inhabitants of the house.

Farid feels angry about his father's condition and wishes he had stayed in prison, after which Farid tries to find out if the girl Marah is seeing anybody.

Farid asks his son to take him to the house of his wife's brother, after which he discovers that his son works in smuggling and does not study as he claims.

When Farid becomes the victim of an unexpected swindle carried out by one of his relatives, he decides to report the person who swindled him to the police.

Farid asks his sister's daughter, Marah, to see her for a whole day in order to find out what's bothering her and advise her what to do.

This time, Farid goes to the village to visit Uncle Youssef, while Ya'rob finds himself in a predicament with his daughter and his new girlfriend.

Hoda is raped by Ziad when he is alone with her in the house, and she refuses to come out of her room.

A malicious report is made against Farid claiming that he is tampering with the prices of his shop's products and selling spoiled food products.

Farid decides to gather his children to tell them that he wants them to take care of their studies. He also asks his eldest son to give up private lessons.

As Ziad feels guilty about what he did with Hoda, he turns his attention to studying his lessons and isolates himself from everyone. Farid tries to check on his children.

Farid is finally reunited with his father, while Hoda's condition worsens, and she becomes depressed.

Hoda returns from the hospital after suffering a health problem due to what happened to her. Ya'rob's daughter goes mad when she finds out that her mother is getting married.

Ziad decides to meet Hoda to try to atone for his misdeed against her, and she asks for a radical solution to her problem, whereupon he intends to solve the problem with money, but it becomes an unacceptable solution.

As it turns out that Hoda has gotten pregnant due to the rape incident she was subjected to, the school decides to expel her, and Farid tries to stand up to what happened.

Afaf tries to persuade Hoda to marry her rapist in order to cover up the scandal, while Farid confronts his son with what he did to Hoda.

Farid asks his son to go away to the village until a solution to his problem is reached with Afaf, telling him to devote himself to his studies.

Farid succeeds in solving Hoda and Ziad's problem, and Hoda comes to live with Farid's family, despite Ziad's absence from the house, but she cannot adapt.

After his success in solving the problem of Ziad and Hoda, Farid tries to solve the problem of his other son, who is considering opening a private project.

After wedding her to his son, Farid decides to send Hoda back to school by enrolling her in a private school.

A young man attacks Farid's shop in an attempt to attack his sister's daughter, telling him that she was the reason for his imprisonment.

Farid tries to prepare Hoda for Ziad's return to the house; meanwhile, he is afraid of the transformations in Youssef's ideas.

The police arrest Maher, Farid's son, and Siham. As Maher is released from prison, Siham remains there, and Farid tries to get her released.

Farid continues his relentless attempts to get Siham, his sister's daughter, out of prison, but to no avail. Abu Tammam is severely beaten by unknown persons.

Ya'rob gets into serious trouble, and it is revealed to Farid that he is not the friend he thought he is all these years.

Abu Tammam is taken to the hospital after being severely beaten. Siham's father discovers that someone is spying on him.

As Abu Tariq dies, a funeral is held for him in the neighborhood. Abu Tammam is discharged from the hospital after a period of convalescence following the severe beating he was subjected to.

Abu Tammam's son disappears in mysterious circumstances, and as it turns out that he drowned, a funeral is held for him.

Siham's mother receives a message from her daughter, Siham, and learns that she carried out a martyrdom operation against the Israeli forces in Southern Lebanon, whereupon a solemn funeral is held for her.
