Fares stays out late and neglects his studies. The journalist, Jalal, defends Khalil, whose father falsely accuses him of theft. As Jalal proposes to Nisan, the daughter of Abu Fares, his mother opposes his wish. Colonel Nazem charges Fares with the attempt to kill the dancer Ahlam.

2nd Episode

Jalal insists on marrying Nisan despite his mother's admonishment, a move that his father supports but his sister Erouba disapproves of. As Nazem goes to Abu Fares's house and sets his eyes on Nisan, he asks Jalal not to call his friend, Farid, who is facing political charges. Nazem proposes to Nisan.

3rd Episode

As Jalal asks Nisan to marry him immediately, her grandmother's health goes downhill. Farid gets detained. Haifaa asks Nazem to visit them and invites him to Nisan and Jalal's wedding. As Qassem returns from Lebanon, Jalal and his family welcome him.

As Khalil complains to Abu Fares that his father sold their house and used the money for his own pleasure, he tries to set his father's friends on fire and robs them. When Jalal marries Nisan behind everyone's backs, Nazem threatens Nisan and asks her to get a divorce. Fares gets arrested again.

As Nazem accuses Fares of being a spy, he frames Jalal on political charges and imprisons him. Nazem promises to have Fares released if Nisan gets divorced from Jalal. As Nisan agrees, the court approves the divorce. Jalal gets close to one of the prison officers.

As Nazem marries Nisan, he takes her to meet his family, only for his cousin Nazira to treat her coolly, leading to the discovery that Nazira is Nazem's wife. After her husband is found murdered, Umm Khalil vanishes. Jalal learns of Nisan and Nazem's marriage.

7th Episode

Fares is released from prison. Nisan confronts Nazem about his marriage to Nazira. At the warden's request, Jalal translates some books for him before breaking out of prison and seeking shelter with Shahin. Nisan finds an infant in front of the palace.

Abu Nasser transfers the prison warden to the military hospital as punishment for Jalal's escape. As Nazem prevents Nisan from going out, he agrees to let Nisan's grandmother move into the palace with her. Nazem monitors everyone who goes into Jalal's house.

9th Episode

When his aunt dies, Nazem goes to his village and leaves Nisan at the palace. Qassem meets Jalal who enlists his help to leave the country. When Nisan gets pregnant, Nazem rejoices, while Nazira mourns and asks him to take her back to the village, only for Nazem to lose his temper and insult her.

Nazem informs Fares that Jalal has broken out of prison. Qassem gets Jalal a passport using another name. When Nazem's mother gets rid of the child that Nisan has taken in, the latter breaks down. Abu Nasser raids Shahine's house to look for Jalal, who flees into the mountain.

As negotiations start for a seize fire, Najat asks Erouba to write reports about the news agencies' coverage. Loai asks Jalal's father for Erouba's hand. When Ahlam returns from abroad, Fares is shocked to discover that she is alive and that everything that happened was a plot from Nazem.

As Fares monitors Ahlam, she tries to escape, but he catches up to her, only for her to reveal that she has been using the name Suzy, and that the police never asked her about the identity of the person who tried to kill her. Erouba returns to Beirut. The Israeli forces raid the Syrian borders.

Erouba gets tortured. Haifaa gives birth to her first child. Nisan asks Nazira to stay with them and plans to make Rawhy her son officially so they can get all of Nazem's fortune. Abu Nasser informs Nisan that they are still looking for Nazem.

Fares marries Nazem's sister, Shamya, while drunk. In 1994, Jalal's health goes downhill. Erouba receives a letter from her father. Zeina's college professor sexually harasses her. Rawhy gets drafted into the army.

Shamya informs Zeina that Rawhy is not her brother. Nisan takes the family and leaves the palace to Shamya. When Khalil returns, he learns that his sisters got married, his mother died, and his brother is in the army. As Jalal decides to go back to the Levant, Abu Nasser tells Jalal's family and Nisan.

Jalal returns with his wife, Sayeda. Khalil tells Nissan that he is Rawhy's father, revealing that the boy has a twin and that his mother is the dancer, Samah, whom he saved and married after she killed her husband. He also reveals that he met Nazem in Lebanon.

Rehal tries to convince Jalal to undergo chemo. Nazira stirs up trouble with Nisan and the rest of the family. Fares finds Ahlam and forcibly takes her to the palace, where she confesses that Nazem framed Fares to separate Nisan and Jalal. She also reveals that the Mossad has Nazem.

As Jalal's condition improves, Nisan meets Jalal in Fares's house as the latter confesses to Jalal that he is the reason for his and Nisan's separation. Haifaa tries to get revenge on Fares. Erouba gets released.
