Mansour insists that his daughter Nehad marry her cousin Shakib, and Tawfiq quarrels with her, while her second brother, Alaa, stands by her side and respects her wish to finish her studies first.

Nehad meets her friend Farida and her brother Muhannad, and they spend a beautiful time together, after which Nehad agrees to marry Shakib on the condition that the marriage be postponed until after the exams.

Tawfiq kicks Farida out when she comes to visit Nehad. He also quarrels with Nehad and Alaa because they wanted to go out at night, so they get angry and leave the house.

As Tawfiq is admitted to the hospital, Alaa and Nehad go to visit him. Shakib agrees with Nehad to call off the temporary engagement, and when Shakib tells both families, everyone is surprised.

Azhar quarrels with Muhannad because he no longer cares for her, while Shakib claims that he is ill and tells his uncle that he canceled the idea of his marriage to Nehad.

Azhar's friend, Huda, goes to Nehad to ask her about the truth of her relationship with Muhannad, which makes Nehad feel remorse towards Shakib, so she calls him, but he avoids her.

Nehad meets Shakib and admonishes him for avoiding talking to her, asking him to apologize, while he shows indifference to what happened. Elsewhere, Azhar returns the gold to Muhannad and calls off the engagement.

Nehad goes with Farida and Muhannad to Azhar's house to make peace with her and return the gold to her, upon which Nehad feels that she has wronged herself by not giving Shakib a chance, while he decides to stay away from her for good and tells his mother about that.

Alaa asks for Israa's hand in marriage, and she agrees after her mother approves of him. At her insistence, Nehad meets Shakib again in a last attempt to get him back, but he refuses and decides to travel outside Iraq.

As Farida tells Shakib that Nehad loves him and that he must not be cruel to her, he procrastinates, but in the end, he meets Nehad, and they agree to marry after she confesses her love to him.
