Soon after their marriage, Maysoon's husband, Naji, travels and leaves her without her knowing anything about him, and she discovers that she is pregnant, then gives birth. Samih conveys Naji's news to Maysoon, who learns from him that Naji married a Greek girl abroad, upon which she collapses and her life gets upended.
