Al Nokhatha (Abu Hamad - Hamad's father) asks Abu Seif (Seif's father) to pay him what he owes him or come with him on the pearling boat. However, Abu Seif is sick and cannot go, so Seif goes to meet with Al Nokhatha.

Seif wants to marry Sheikha, and at the same time, Hamad develops feelings for her. Meanwhile, Seif decides to go on the boat with Al Nokhatha to pay off his father's debt.

Umm Hamad (Hamad's mother) goes to Umm Sheikha (Sheikha's mother) to ask for her hand in marriage for her son, but Umm Sheikha tells her she is already spoken for by Seif.

Seif's mother is surprised to find that Umm Sheikha agreed to let her daughter marry Hamad and argues with her. Abu Hamad (Al Nokhatha) goes to ask for Myssa's hand in marriage despite the large age gap between them.

Mattar pits Hamad against Seif and tells him to get rid of him in order to marry Sheikha, so Hamad asks his father to go pearl diving with them. Meanwhile, Seif visits his father and tries to convince him that marrying Sheikha is not a good idea.

Everyone prepares to go on the ship with Al Nokhatha. Seif and Hamad bid their families farewell and leave.

Everyone begins pearl diving. Meanwhile, Abu Seif gets gravely ill and bedridden.

While the men continue their pearl diving journey, the women back home, including Sheikha, Myssa, and their mother, collect dates from palm trees.

Seif gets a high fever and Mattar asks Al Nokhatha to take care of Hamad, while enticing him to prepare to get rid of Seif when the time comes.

As Seif dives into the water, Mattar tells Hamad to let the rope tying him to the ship loose. He almost drowns but is saved by fellow fishermen.

At Night, Hamad pushes Seif into the water and thinks he has drowned. As they all return home, Seif's family is devastated for his presumed death. However, Seif is able to swim until he is saved by a fisherman.

Hamad is engaged to Sheikha, whose father forces her to marry him. Meanwhile, Seif manages to help the fishermen with pearl diving then returns home on Sheikha and Hamad's wedding day.

Seif goes to the judge and tells him what Mattar and Hamad have done to him. He sentences them to jail time and flogging. Sheikha then gets a divorce from Hamad and marries Seif.
