Larry and Cheryl have an argument after Larry’s devious plan to avoid going to two parties goes terribly wrong, whereupon she takes in a family, the Blacks, who became homeless in the aftermath of Hurricane Edna, to which Larry reluctantly agrees.

Larry donates money to a museum, which names a wing after him, only to have an anonymous donor steal the show. Larry gets on the wrong foot with his house guest, Leon, whom he later makes up with, and Leon helps him get back a jersey that the dry cleaner misplaced.

Loretta seeks the Davids’ help to get her kids into a school for the elite, but Larry causes a series of mishaps that might ruin their chances.

As Larry gets his friend’s girlfriend a job in his office building, he ends up regretting it; meanwhile, a waiter has an argument with the Greenes, which brings about unpleasant consequences.

Larry gets Ted a book about freaks for his birthday, which causes much trouble; meanwhile, Larry’s limo driver makes a scene at the birthday party, then asks Larry for a favor.

Larry and Leon accidentally swap their phones, which costs Leon a job and causes a terrible misunderstanding. A deaf woman is outraged as Larry calls her little dog a rat, and as he tries to redeem the situation, it only gets worse.

When the plane Cheryl is on hits turbulence, she calls Larry, who doesn’t listen to her as he’s busy with the TiVo guy. As Cheryl decides to leave Larry, their friends start choosing sides.

While visiting Jeff at the hospital, Larry meets and starts dating a doctor. A misunderstanding causes Jeff to end up with a shaven head and Larry to be accused of racism, whereupon Jeff decides to sue the hospital, while the Blacks get offended.

The advice of Larry’s therapist to win Cheryl back backfires, as Cheryl's therapist starts falling for him. Larry flips at Marty, accusing him of collecting money for a charity walk while not participating in it himself.

A miscommunication ends up with a rumor spreading about Larry that involves a gerbil, but with Sammi’s bat mitzvah ceremony approaching, he finds it to be a great chance to resolve this issue.
