1st Episode

Al-Bassel Hamd Pasha lives with his daughter Neama and he is preparing to travel on business. Meanwhile, his two sons-in-law try to win him over. Lieutenant Fouad Othman arrives in town and he wonders how can one man enjoy this great authority and influence.

2nd Episode

Al-Bassel meets with arms and gold dealers for business, and Neama is sad that she didn't get to say goodbye to her father. Her only consolation is that her cousin Belal intends to ask for her hand as soon as her father returns. Allam banishes Muntasser from the land of Dahsha.

3rd Episode

The chief of the village decides to leave Al-Bassel a great treasure and Al-Bassel takes it back to Dahsha and buries it at the family's graveyard. Al-Bassel's sister advises him to distribute the treasure between his daughters before his death for fear his half-brothers will disinherit them.

Al-Bassel gathers his family at Sakan's house, and he urges his three daughters to prove their love and gratitude for him. Nawal and Rabeha easily sweet-talk their father and feign love for him, which Neama cannot do, so he decides to disinherit her.

Neama's sisters try to change her mind, but she strongly adheres to it and regards their deed immoral. Al-Bassel invites his brother Mahran and his son Belal and informs them he has both disowned Neama. Mahran urges his son to reconsider marrying Neama, but he insists to marry her.

Wedding preparations are afoot. Allam plots against Al-Bassel with Rady and the latter goes to the wedding intending to murder Al-Bassel, but Al-Bassel orders his men to tie Rady up.

Neama and Belal get married. Abu El-Dif passes away, and to reassure his widow, Al-Bassel promises her she shall not leave the house. Al-Bassel is heavy-hearted because of his disagreement with Neama, so he moves out to Nawal's house hoping to get rid of his strong attachment to her.

Fouad storms Al-Bassel's house in search of weapons and he clearly intends to do him harm, but Al-Bassel's men catch Fouad and bring him to Al-Bassel who learns that Fouad is Othman El-Refaye's, with whom Al-Bassel has past antagonisms, son.

Just as Fouad was intending to leave Dahsha, his father tells him that his departure amounts to giving up on his rights, so he changes his mind. The ugly and unpleasant face of Nawal and her husband's covetous nature emerges when Al-Bassel refuses to appoint Amer a mayor.

Rabha arrives at Nawal's house to try to win her father over and she feigns concern over him and the drug-possession incident. She also invites him to stay at her house. Al-Bassel meets the drug dealers he is associated with and tells them he will cut off his business with them.

Abu Zeid aspires to be Al-Bassel's successor in arms-dealing. Neama is pregnant and she urges Belal to find an apartment where they can live alone. Al-Bassel eventually succumbs to Nawal and Amer's badgering and appoints Amer to be Dahsha's mayor.

Abu El-Fadl's widow is broke and she has to sell her deceased husband's clothes. Al-Bassel publicly berates Amer for humiliating Navadi, the previous mayor. Navadi assures Al-Bassel that he is solely loyal to him, even if he is not the mayor.

Muntasser proposes to Agamia, but Allam dashes his aspirations as he suggests Muntasser marries his cousin, Abu El-Fadl's daughter. Neama terribly misses her father and her only wish is to see him and vent to him about how much of a pushover her husband is.

Amer complains to Al-Bassel about how burdensome his work is, and he requests to perform his tasks from home. Jad Allah, meanwhile, tries to communicate to Al-Bassel that Nawal and Rabha both are so blinded by their greed, and he tries to reconcile him with Neama.

Rabha gets jealous when she sees her husband with Kawkab, the maid. Rady resumes his attempts to stir discordance between Allam and his son Muntasser. Abu Zeid wants to recruit Amer to work with him in drug-dealing.

Al-Bassel is saddened to learn of Amer's mistreatment of the guards. Muntasser learns that Rady is his half-brother. Belal intends to sell his wife's jewelry to buy a piece of land. Abu Zeid resumes his attempts to find the hiding place of Al-Bassel's weapons.

Muntasser marries Agamia. Al-Bassel's fury magnifies as Amer continues his mistreatment of the guards and doesn't satisfy their need for food, but he cannot take action against him in order not to upset his daughter Nawal.

Al-Bassel has had enough of his daughter and her husband's inappropriate practices, and Nawal goes too far as to ask him to leave the house and return to the land of Dahsha. Al-Bassel decides to go to Rabha's house next.

Desperate and disappointed with his daughter Nawal, Al-Bassel arrives at Rabha's house and complains about Nawal's mistreatment of him, and he expects Rabha to stand by him and condemn her sister's ill-practices.

Neama decides to find her father and she heads to Nawal's house first. Amer tortures Gabra to get him to confess who stole the weapons.

Al-Bassel learns that Amer seized Abu El-Fadl's weapons. A stranger appears and it is clear that he intends to murder Al-Bassel, but he changes his mind when he comes to the conclusion that Al-Bassel is merely a lunatic.
