When the people find a stranger called Riyad Al-Nady in a critical condition, they try to help out as he wakes up, having lost his memory.
Seif and Hassan try to find out Riyad's identity and locate his family. Meanwhile, as Riyad leaves the hospital, the people give him the name 'Gharib'. Seif struggles under the weight of his problems with his wife and daughter as well as his mounting debts.
Seif provides Gharib with shelter. Hanan wants to amicably end her marriage to Seif and promises to let him see their daughter Noha if he accepts.
No'man helps Khalaf impose control over the people and buy their lands for a new project. Zizi feels there is something suspicious about her father Riyad's disappearance.
Seif reminisces over how he supported Hanan until she made it as an actress. When No'man tries to force Anwaar into relinquishing her land, Gharib stands up to him.
In his father's absence, Hany tries to manage the family's property, in light of Zizi's attempt to find Riyad. An anonymous person reports Gharib to the police, claiming he's feigning memory loss to conceal his criminal record.
Seif learns that Hanan is plotting to send him to a psychiatric facility. The police urge Gharib to visit all the police departments across the country to see if he has a criminal record and find out his identity.
When the police fail to recognize him, Gharib returns to the village and learns that No'man and Khalaf are the ones who reported him. Anwaar tries to get closer to Gharib.
Hassan urges Seif to stay away from Gharib. Hany loses several tenders at the company.
When rumors spread about Gharib's death, Seif and Hassan worry that there might be an actual plot to have him murdered. Degheidy learns that Riyad is staying at a faraway village.
Abbas proposes to Hoda and promises to stay away from No'man if she accepts. Olweya enlists Degheidy's help to find where Riyad (Gharib) is.
It turns out that Deghediy and No'man are in cahoots. Degheidy's plan to run Riyad over is thwarted. Gharib points an accusing finger at No'man.
Because of Sief's connection to No'man, Rady refuses to wed him to Hoda. Olweya and Abdel Hamid find Riyad and bring him home, but he remembers nothing.
As Seif asks No'man to stop his controlling ways and leave the village, No'man gets mad and threatens Seif. Semsem returns to the village when he is acquitted. Olweya recounts to Riyad how he separated her and Abdel Hamid.
Shawqy suspects that Degheidy might be behind Riyad's disappearance. Seif provides Ali with a shelter to keep him safe when the latter receives death threats. Riyad learns that he's married to another woman called Suzy.
No'man devises a new plot by having Semsem back in the village as he poses as a man called Chief Beshir. Anwaar learns that No'man bought the lands in the village to set up his dream project.
Riyad and Seif join forces to bring No'man down. No'man suspects that Riyad has regained his memory. Abdel Hamid tells Riyad that he ruined his life by sending him to the psychiatric facility.
When Riyad regains his memory, he loses memory of everything about Gharib. Riyad tries to mend his relationship with his brother Abdel Hamid. Someone is sent to murder Seif.
As Riyad gets back to his company, he realizes that he had a shady business where corruption prevailed. No'man recruits Semsem to spy on the people at the village.
Seif enters the hospital in a critical condition. Riyad presents documents proving the corruption of those around him, resulting in having him, Degheidy, Hanan, and No'man arrested. No'man is sentenced to death, while Riyad is sentenced to one year in prison. Riyad longs for a fresh start.
