An American writer and director, born in Miami in 1979. He studied cinema at Florida State University. In 2008, he made his first feature film, Medicine for Melancholy, and in 2016 he made his second film Moonlight, which received critical acclaim, and won many awards, earning eight Oscar nominations, and winning three, including Best Pictures.
