Actor and comedian Ahmed Eid stated that now, and after the many changes that Egypt has undergone in the last year, people working in the censorship committee fully understand that the space for freedom has increased much more than before. Personal expression has taken a different outlook. Ahmed believes that the role for censorship will not be political censorship as much as social in terms of sexual and religiously offending content. The actor stated that although the recent events are stimulating many ideas that could be translated in art, yet we should not hastily produce uncalculated work, and make it a trend that everyone wants a piece of; otherwise the grand event of the revolution would lose its value and meaning. Ahmed added that it is crucial to be positive and add value in the upcoming period of Egypt’s history. He explained that we as Egyptians must try our best to rebuild Egypt, each person individually participate in reconstructing the community.
