    Enas ElDighade is one of the most famous and controversial female directors in the Middle East. A blatant feminist, many of her movies discuss issues that pertain to women and their role in Arab societies and the plight of women in Middle Eastern culture. Most of her characters are empowered females and spread the message that women deserve the same freedoms as men in society. Her films are criticized by conservatives as being too risqué and racy. Enas graduated from the High Institute of Performing Arts, directing division, in 1975. She apprenticed under legendary film directors as Youssef Shahin and Barakat. Her directorial debut "My Apologies to the Law" in 1985 proved her to be a competent, strong director with a talent for making meaningful films. Some of her more controversial works include "Diaries of a Teenager" and "Lace". Rotana has recently asked her to present a talk show as a replacement to her friend and fellow colleague Hala Sarhan.
