The Golden Pyramid goes to France with "A Date at Corona".

The 35th Cairo International Film Festival ended itsevents at a press conference replacing the Awarding Ceremony which wascancelled due to the current situations in Egypt. A large number of artistswere absent but the awards were announced by heads of different committees ofthe festival.

Actor Khaled Aboul Naga, Jury member at the Long InternationalFeature Films competition announced prizes where the Golden Pyramid for BestFilm went to the French film "Rendez-Vous in Kiruna" by Anna Novion andthe Silver Pyramid went to the Italian film "L'Industriale" by GulianoMontaldo.

The International Critics prize went to the Venezuelan film "Breachof Silence" by Luis Alejandro and Andres Eduardo Rodriguez. The same film receivedShadi Abdel Salam's Prize for best director.

Isis Prize for Best Actress went to Venezuelan actress VanessaDi Quattro for her role in "Breach of Silence" and Best Actor prizewent to Polish actor Marian Dziedziel for his role in "The 5thSeason of the Year".

And introducing prizes for Arab Films Competition were actorMahmhoud Abdel Aziz, head of jury, and actress Kenda Alloush, jury member. Thecommittee awarded the Rich Image and Scenes prize to Lebanese director Joe BouEid for his films "Heels of War" and a special mention to directorAnn Marie Jacir for her film "When I Saw" for its optimistic visionregarding the Palestinian Cause.

The Isis Prize for Best Actor went to Saad Al Farag for his rolein "Tora Tora" and the Best Actress prize went to Algerian actress AdilaBen Dimerad for her role in "The Repentant".

As for the Human Rights Competition, prizes were given by jurymember actress Boshra and the Tahrir Square Prize went to Polish director WojciechSmarzowski for his film "Rose" and the Special Mention went toChinese director Zhang Yang for his film "Full Circle".

TheNaguib Mahfouz Award was given to Moroccan film "The Miscreants" byMohcine Besri who while receiving his award demanded the Egyptians to continuetheir fight against the Muslim Brotherhood. He dedicated his award to the lateEgyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser and to the Egyptian people.

Thefestival's organizing committee awarded the Special Mention was awarded to "ElSheta Elli Fat – Winter of Discontent" a film with high cinematographic languagedirected by Ibrahim El Batout. The awarded was received by the film producerand actor Salah Hanafi where director and lead actor Amr Waked were absent fromthe conference.

Thecommittee didn't award the Isis Best director, Saad El Din Wahba Best Scriptand Yousef Chahin Best Artistic Contribution awards.
