Aisha takes care of her children. When Sa'oud fails to buy new shoes for his son Nasser, the latter falls down and breaks his leg. As Aisha looks after Nasser, her husband and children resent her overt attention to him. Her son Ahmed leaves the house.

Ahmed goes back home. When Sa'oud sees a young man smoking, he grows concerned about his children and keeps an eye on them. Aisha discovers that Ahmed has taken to smoking, a fact that gets him admonished in school.

Sa'oud informs his wife Aisha that he will open a new project besides his governmental job. As he becomes preoccupied with his work, he neglects his house and foists all responsibilities on Aisha.

Aisha is upset that Sa'oud has been spending too much time at the office. As she suspects that he likes the secretary, he tells her that his secretary is an old woman. But Aisha soon discovers that he is lying and that his secretary is a young, beautiful girl.

Aisha insists on having the secretary fired and threatens to leave the house. His parents' problems cause Ahmed's performance in school to drop.

In Aisha's absence, Sa'oud and his children are forced to take care of the house and do all the chores. Sa'oud thinks about apologizing to Aisha.

Sa'oud informs Aisha that he will bring her a maid. When his children buy video tapes of foreign movies and neglect their studies, Sa'oud admonishes them.

Sa'oud's children are annoyed that their cousin Adel will stay with them for the duration of his school years. Aisha complains about Sa'oud's neglect of his children.

Sa'oud is surprised when his children's performance proves to be inadequate, while their cousin Adel excels at school. As jealousy causes tensions to rise, Adel decides to leave the house.

As Ahmed apologizes to Adel, the latter returns to the house. With exams upon them, Laila takes pills to help her stay up late to study. Ahmed resorts to cheating during exams, which is noticed by the teacher supervising the exams.

As he continues to cheat his way through school, Ahmed's performance continues to deteriorate. Sa'oud decides to help Ahmed and Adel, whose school performance starts to slip as well, much to his father's frustration.

Sa'oud is forced to travel after he faces financial difficulties. When Aisha considers asking her brother Farag for help, Sa'oud refuses since he knows how miserly Farag is. But when Farag falls ill, he changes his attitude and tries to get close to his sister and her children.

As Aisha's pregnancy starts to take a toll on her, her daughter Laila tries to help around the house. Hoda is concerned that the new baby will take all of her parents' attention. Sa'oud starts to take care of his children to help Aisha, who gives birth to a boy.
